Connecticut Ranks in the Bottom 10 States for Business Tax Climate
HARTFORD – Today Americans for Prosperity-Connecticut is reacting to the recent report issued by the non-partisan Tax Foundation rating the state’s business tax climates.
“Taxes are important to businesses who are considering moving here or expanding their operations within our borders,” said JR Romano, Americans for Prosperity Connecticut State Director. “Unfortunately, this index reveals that the Connecticut business tax climate leaves much to be desired.”
The 2014 State Business Tax Climate Index ranks Connecticut in the bottom ten states, officially rating the state’s business tax climate at 42nd.
“If we are serious about growing our economy, our state has to have a business tax climate that is open to businesses,” continued Romano. “As today’s report demonstrates we have an uphill battle ahead of us to moving Connecticut back on the path to economic prosperity. If our elected officials want to generate jobs in Connecticut, they need to reform our business tax climate so that businesses can create more jobs.”
