AFP-CT: State Budget Will Bring More of the Same

June 04, 2013

Hartford, Conn. – Americans for Prosperity– Connecticut State Director JR Romano issued the following statement in response to last’s night budget vote.

“Unfortunately for the families and businesses here in Connecticut, the budget passed last night offers them more of the same – extended tax increases and increased spending,” said AFP-CT State Director, JR Romano. “If we have any hope of seeing our state thrive we have to break free of this cycle of increasing taxes to pay for growing government and instead pursue a government that lives within its means and does not treat its residents and businesses like revenue sources by burdening them with tremendous taxes.”

The state senate narrowly passed the budget last night by a vote of 19-17.

“Unfortunately for Connecticut, there is nowhere to go but down,” continued Romano. “Our state already ranks at the bottom or almost the bottom of every ‘best of’ list. We need significant changes not more of the same before even more families and businesses are forced to flee our state due to its unfriendly economic climate.”
