AFP-CT Releases "I'm Not a Revenue Source" Petition
HARTFORD – Americans for Prosperity-Connecticut released their “I’m Not a Revenue Source” petition this morning at a press conference in the Statehouse. State Senator Joe Markley made remarks alongside AFP-CT State Director J.R. Romano.
“While families and individuals in the state are struggling and being forced to cut back, the state government keeps growing and along with it the burden placed upon the taxpayers in the state,” said JR Romano, AFP-CT State Director. “Connecticut taxpayers are fed up and want real cuts to state government rather than revenue increases. We put together this petition as a way for the people to take this message to their elected officials in Hartford. ”
Activists are encouraged to sign and disseminate the petition for the next month. AFP-CT plans to deliver the signatures to elected officials in Hartford after tax day, April 15. The petition can be found at www.residentnotrevenue.com.
“I am proud to be part of the launch of this petition,” said State Senator Joe Markley. “As an elected official, nothing matters more to me than the voice of the people I am elected to represent. I look forward to hearing from people across the state and am hopeful that we can enact real reform and shrink the size of state government.”
