DOT to Business: Don't Come to CT?!
As you may have read, the state Department of Transportation (DOT) recently denied an application from business owner Bob Romano to expand his Rhode Island-based three-truck moving operation into North Stonington. Now Bob is no relation to me, Romano is like Smith in Italian. But regardless of his last name, the mere fact that the State will not allow him to bring a business here is just ridiculous.
Read more about it HERE.
I encourage you to contact the DOT immediately and ask that they reverse this anti-business decision.
If our state is truly “open for business” as the Governor has declared, then we should be welcoming businesses who want to relocate or expand into our state rather than denying their requests to put people back to work and provide services to our residents.
Call the DOT today at 860-594-2000 or email Commissioner James Redeker firstname.lastname@example.org and let him know that it is not their job to drive businesses away from our state!
Forward this to your friends and ask for their help. Let’s show the state that we are paying attention.

P.S. While Governor Malloy and his Administration officials like the DOT may not support encouraging out-of-state businesses to come to CT to hire workers and expand our tax base, he has no trouble paying an out-of-state PR firm to run the CT tourism ad program. Read more about that HERE. #stillindebt
