We Need Your Help to Stop Backdoor Political Deals

April 20, 2012

Late Thursday night, a few Senators introduced a bill that goes to vote today that will effectively force daycare providers into a union. Americans for Prosperity needs your help to call your Senator and Representative and urge them to reject HB 5312.

Here’s the background. Edith Prague and Zek Zelaski have introduced an amendment that was killed in their own committee. HB 5312 is backdoor deal for the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) and is a direct assault on female business owners. This bill is an attempt to stop a lawsuit that called to question the constitutional authority of the governor to force daycare workers into a union. When the Labor Committee held it’s hearing on the bill, hundreds turned out to protest and the bill died.

Today this bill rears it’s ugly head again and its proponents, Senator Edith Prague and Representative Zek Zelaski, have given the hard working women in this state a Friday surprise. If this bill passes it will likely kill the lawsuit and give the SEIU exactly what they want. Senator Prague and Rep Zalaski mine as well start collecting a check from the unions. They are doing more to fill the coffers of SEIU then they are for the hard working families in the State of CT.

We need to tell our elected leaders that we will not stand for this behavior any longer. While the families of this state suffer, our political leaders play games with our lives.
