Please Help Stop the Insanity!
Today, the CT General Assembly will hold a public hearing on a bill to increase the minimum wage in CT. I will be live-Tweeting from the hearing, so follow me for updates at @AFPConnecticut!
The minimum you need to know about the minimum wage hike is this – when minimum wages increase, employment numbers decrease. Our state cannot afford to drive away any more employers or employment opportunities with this unnecessary change! What you need to know about minimum wage is all right HERE.
The bill being considered would raise the current rate of $8.25/hour to $9.00/hour on July 1 followed by $9.75/hour on July 1, 2014.
Connecticut already has the highest minimum wage in the country and our state is suffering for it. You can use THIS LINK to contact the Committee members and tell them to oppose this bill! Tell them to focus on lowering taxes and government waste!
