Americans for Prosperity and Other Groups to Rally at State Capitol to Tell Barack Obama, “You Don’t Know Stimulus”

Michelle Malkin will join AFP at rally as Obama signs stimulus bill today

DENVER—As President Barack Obama travels to Denver to sign a trillion dollar debt package, Americans for Prosperity, joined with Independence Institute, Coalition for a Conservative Majority and other organizations, will protest with Michelle Malkin and hundreds of concerned citizens to tell Obama, “You don’t know stimulus.”

Americans for Prosperity in Colorado will be holding an event to put light on the theft bill--also known as the "stimulus" bill or the so-called American Reinvestment and Recovery Act--he will be signing in Denver on this Tuesday, February 17 between noon and 3pm.

TABOR is under attack where it all began. TABOR was first enacted in Colorado Springs in 1991, and then enacted at the state level the following year.(1) When TABOR was enacted in Colorado Springs critics argued that it would end local government as we know it. Critics are at it again, threatening to repeal the local TABOR. Before opponents put measures on the ballot to repeal the Colorado Springs TABOR they should understand the impact it has had.

The Sustainable Funding Committee which reports its recommendations to the Colorado Springs City Council on ways to fund local government has recommended that the Council eliminate the local Taxpayers Bill of Rights [TABOR] by referendum. They sent their recommendation this past week, and we need your help to oppose this ill-conceived solution which would take away your right to vote on spending and tax increases which go above the TABOR limits.
