AFP-Co Disappointed by House Budget ”Deal” Vote

AFP-Co Responds to  Budget ”Deal” Vote

Parker, CO – Americans for Prosperity Colorado State Director Dustin Zvonek issued the following statement in response to tonight’s disappointing vote on the Ryan-Murray budget “deal.”

“From our standpoint, any “deal” that  replaces the spending limits promised in the Budget Control Act with more Washington gimmicks and promises for future fiscal responsibility is a ‘raw deal’ for taxpayers. Abandoning all budget discipline, just as the deficit reduction benefits of the sequester cuts and other budget controls are being realized, will only serve to pile onto our already staggering national debt. We’re glad to see that at least a few members of Colorado’s congressional delegation understood the importance of standing firm on those principles.”

Earlier this month, AFP launched a nationwide effort called No  Empty Promises, which empowered free-market activists to make their voice  heard at local town hall meetings, and take action via phone, email, and social  media.
