Americans for Prosperity Co-Hosting Major Rally in Denver on July 29th
DENVER – Today Americans for Prosperity announced the speaker list for the major rally they are co-hosting on Tuesday, July 29th to protest the Environmental Protection Agency’s latest rules. The “Stop the EPA Power Grab” rally at Lincoln Park will feature politicians, business leaders, policy analysts, and many more. See details below.
Where: Lincoln Park, Denver (on Colfax Ave next to the CO State Capitol).
When: Tuesday, July 29th, 12 to 3 PM
Why: In early June, the Obama administration announced the latest in a series of regulations on traditional energy production: a new EPA rule to cut carbon-dioxide emissions from coal- and gas-fired power plants across the United States.
This proposed rule could destroy as many as 80,000 jobs across the nation, according to the EPA’s own estimates. Coal producing states like Colorado will be particularly hard-hit.
Who: Governor Hickenlooper and Former Congressman Bob Beauprez have been invited. Confirmed speakers include:
State Rep. Ray Scott – NW CO legislator (Mesa County)
Dustin Zvonek – Americans for Prosperity
Michael Sandoval – Independence Institute
Ray Beck – Craig City Council/Club 20
Frank Moe – Craig, CO businessman
Mary Frontczak – Peabody Energy
Tony Gagliardi – NFIB Colorado-Wyoming
Jess La Buff – Boilermakers Montana
Jason Dean Small – Boilermakers Montana
Greg Kohn – Montana Chamber of Commerce
Mark Gordon – Wyoming State Treasurer
Bill Schilling – Wyoming Business Alliance
Kim Floyd – AFL-CIO Wyoming
“The EPA has chosen ideology over common sense policies and in the process is threatening to destroy tens of thousands of jobs and drive up the cost of energy,” explained Dustin Zvonek, Colorado State Director of Americans for Prosperity. “Our activists are looking forward to making it clear that they expect Congress to rein in the EPA, stop these regulations from being implemented, and stand up for sensible energy policy that creates jobs and keeps energy prices low.”
