LARKSPUR — As Californians face several statewide ballot initiatives that would hike taxes and authorize additional taxpayer debt, Americans for Prosperity, in collaboration with the California-based Reason Foundation and the Pacific Research Institute, brought the "Taxpayer Trust Tour" to Larkspur to highlight $100 million in tax dollars authorized to be squandered on the Sonoma-Marin Area Rail Transit (SMART) project. The seven-city road Tour, which was launched in Sacramento on Monday, has the goal of raising awareness about wasteful spending and mismanagement in state government.

SACRAMENTO — The national free-market grassroots group Americans for Prosperity, in collaboration with the California-based Reason Foundation and the Pacific Research Institute, launched its seven-city "Taxpayer Trust Tour" at a news conference at the State Capitol today. The road tour, which will spotlight local examples of waste and mismanagement in state government, is intended to raise awareness about wasteful state spending before citizens decide on several statewide ballot initiatives that would hike taxes and authorize additional taxpayer debt.

The National Taxpayer's Union - a national taxpayer-advocacy policy institute - has released a comprehensive State Ballot Guide. This guide - which categorizes 7 out of the 8 initiatives on the ballot in California as wasteful - comes at the right time as AFP kicks-off our Taxpayer Trust Tour in Sacremento on Monday.
