AFP TV Ad Holds Rep. Peters Accountable for ObamaCare Position
Group will continue to let “activists voice their frustration on the ground and on the airwaves,” says director Spady.
SAN DIEGO — Today Americans for Prosperity, the nation’s largest advocate for health care freedom, announced the launch of a new television ad in California’s 52nd district holding Rep. Scott Peters accountable for his support of ObamaCare. The ad begins today and will run for three weeks on broadcast and cable. The spots will be supported by robust grassroots action in the district that includes door-to-door canvassing and phone banking.
“Americans for Prosperity has long stood opposed to ObamaCare, and its rollout continues to prove that this law will be a disaster for many California families,” said AFP-California State Director David Spady. “We’ve helped our activists voice their frustrations with this law both on the ground and on the airwaves, and we’ll continue to do so. The ad focused on Rep. Peters is just the latest part of an ongoing effort to hold lawmakers accountable for their roles in this ill-conceived, Big Government power grab.”
Over the summer, AFP carried out a multi-million dollar effort with a series of four TV ads that highlighted the negative impact of Obamacare on individuals.
This latest round of ads also highlights the group’s Exempt Me, Too! message, reminding activists to tell lawmakers we can do better than ObamaCare. Hundreds of thousands of AFP activists have already signed a petition at justexempt.me, asking the President for the same special treatment that Big Business and the well-connected have already begun enjoying under the law.
“Legislators who have consistently stood against ObamaCare deserve to be thanked for doing the right thing, and those responsible for bringing about this debacle need to be held accountable,” said AFP President Tim Phillips. “The result of ObamaCare so far has been diminished choice and higher premiums, accompanied by an astonishingly inept rollout that perfectly exemplifies the inefficiency of Big Government.”
