Outrageous: Kid Cages at School Bus Stops
California – Americans for Prosperity calls for reform of the Endangered Species Act.
The Endangered Species Act has been transformed from a balanced conservation policy to an instrument used to pursue radical environmental agendas. Abuses of the Act have led to thousands of job losses, hundreds of terminated projects, and countless invasions of private property rights. State’s rights should not be infringed upon through the ESA’s broad applications of the Commerce Clause. In addition, plants and animals, not in danger of extinction, shouldn’t be granted rights that impede business, industry, and American prosperity.
Abuses of the law have allowed the Federal government to act just like the predators they are protecting under the Endangered Species Act. As a consequence of artificial wolf introduction to populated areas, children are being forced into cages to protect them from wolves at local school bus stops. This is a prime example of what happens when the livelihood of wild animals are deemed more important than the American people.
Wolves in Government Clothing is a 30 minute documentary telling the story of two predators, one from the wild, and the other from our nation’s capitol. The documentary consists of real life stories from children in wolf proof cages, to livelihoods destroyed, with private property rights ignored, and repetition of government’s heavy handed abuse of the Endangered Species Act.
“The purpose of this film it to educate the public, particularly those who live in urban areas, about government actions that threaten the economic viability of rural America”, explains David Spady, California State Director of Americans for Prosperity. “When government agencies ignore the economic impact of their actions, and use their vast powers to override state’s rights and local community’s interests, we all suffer”.
The film can be viewed at wolvesingovernmentclothing.com. Americans for Prosperity is encouraging activists to sign an online petition demanding members of Congress take action to reform the Endangered Species Act and rein in out of control government agencies. (Petition)
California, and other Western states that do not currently have wolf populations, are being considered for artificial wolf introduction programs. This action would only lead to more financial hardship in a region that is still reeling from economic recession. Americans for Prosperity California is asking our 150,000 state members to send a message to Washington, D.C. – California Can’t Afford Wolves.
