Caucusing county Democrats defend native son Braley; GOP talks platform issues

WATERLOO | Democratic state Rep. Anesa Kajtazovic is seeking to fill the shoes of 1st District U.S. Rep. Bruce Braley, D-Iowa, and she had some words of encouragement for him in his bid for U.S. Senate at Tuesday night’s caucus.

“To have the entire, big corporate money machine coming after you, I think Bruce Braley, you must be doing something right,” Kajtazovic said to the Democrats gathered at United Auto Workers Local 838 union hall for the kickoff to the election season.

Democrats and Republicans in Black Hawk County and across the state met for precinct caucuses on Tuesday night.
