AFP Launches New Ads, New Targets in ObamaCare Accountability

November 20, 2013

Six new TV ads say: “It’s not about politics, it’s about people.”

Arlington, VA — Today Americans for Prosperity, the nation’s largest advocate for health care freedom, continued efforts to hold politicians accountable for their support of ObamaCare with a new series of TV ads. The latest wave of ads, which will total $4 million, starts today in Alaska, Arizona, Florida, Louisiana, and North Carolina.

“Some politicians are scrambling to distance themselves from ObamaCare,” said AFP President Tim Phillips. “But people are hurting. They’re losing their doctor, seeing the plan they liked stripped away from them, seeing prices go up and their options dwindle. Political games won’t fix this. We want to make sure this is the number one issue on everyone’s mind.

“Some lawmakers who championed ObamaCare are now going through the antics of trying to ‘fix’ it. But it’s all political. The reality is less choice, fewer doctors, higher premiums, and broken promises.”

This round of TV ads will focus on Senators Begich (AK), Landrieu (LA) and Hagan (NC), as well as Representatives Murphy (FL-18), Garcia (FL-26) and Barber (AZ-2).

Over the summer, AFP carried out a multi-million dollar effort with a series of four TV ads that highlighted the negative impact of Obamacare on individuals.
