AFP Comments on FY 2014 Appropriations

The House of Representatives is beginning the process of moving the 12 appropriations bills through committee and the floor. This is a natural opportunity for House members to deliver on their promises of reining in runaway spending.

Americans For Prosperity urges Congress to limit discretionary spending levels to $967 billion. This would keep the sequester in place, adhere to the Budget Control Act, and return federal spending to pre-stimulus levels.

Below are our suggestions for commonsense spending cuts that Congress should consider to restrain spending in the upcoming fiscal year.
