The Arkansas chapter of the grassroots free market group Americans for Prosperity (AFP-AR) today applauded State Senate candidate Jim Sorvillo (32nd District) for signing the group’s No Climate Tax pledge. Sorvillo joins more than 600 bipartisan lawmakers and candidates on the federal, state and local levels pledging to “oppose legislation relating to climate change that includes a net increase in government revenue.”
“The one thing elected officials should be able to agree on is that global warming shouldn’t be used as an excuse to hike taxes on citizens and businesses,” said AFP-AR State Director Teresa Oelke. “We encourage all of Arkansas’ elected officials and candidates for elected office to sign the pledge.”
Arkansas signers include: U.S. Senator John Boozman; U.S. Representatives Rick Crawford, Tim Griffin and Steve Womack; well as numerous state lawmakers and candidates for office.
