Via National Review Online:
President Obama is refusing to take yes for an answer. House Republicans have rightly acceded to his demand that they keep payroll taxes from rising at the start of the new year. He is nonetheless threatening to veto the bill because it includes other provisions he dislikes.

Arkansas' 2nd District Congressman Tim Griffin has followed through on yet another campaign promise. Shocker, right? Not really. It's kind of an epidemic with the guy.
Anyway... the End Pensions in Congress Act (EPIC) is a good start when looking at exactly how to reform Federal Pensions. With government spending being as out of control as it is, why not bring Federal employment benefits to the same level as the private sector? Because, really, you shouldn't work for the government with the goal of getting rich. That's what the private sector's for.
Here are some facts and figures for your enjoyment on this beautiful Friday:

Dan Riehl of BigGovernment.com has the story.
Some called it a gaffe when current Vice President Joe Biden was caught on video saying, No Coal Plants Here in America, during the 2008 campaign. Now, thanks to a bit of curious timing, the Obama administration may be a step closer to achieving that very thing, destroying up to 1.4 million jobs in the progress. The move will also lead to a significant increase in energy prices; however, it may be too late to do anything about all that by the time the information comes to light. And yet some think Wall Street, not Washington, is the problem.
Heres the issueone part of it, anyway. Connect the dots, beginning with this Federal Energy Regulatory Commission item.

[img_assist|nid=24611|title=|desc=|link=none|align=left|width=300|height=232]So its been drilled into my generations collective head that Mother Earth above all else is most important. Now Im not saying we shouldnt be good stewards of what we have and the environment around us (if you arent you should be ashamed of yourself); but I am saying that its really not the governments job to prioritize
well
my priorities.
In saying all of that, lets take a look at the various proposals coming from the firm Walls, Robert, Todd a group of consultants that is tasked with studying and then selling new regulations on land owners (and future land owners) in the Lake Maumelle Watershed area in Pulaski County.
