Debate September 5 on AZ ObamaCare Exchange

September 03, 2012 J

AFP-Arizona director Tom Jenney assures ObamaCare IPAB victim Mort Allitee, formerly on Medicare, that we are working hard to repeal ObamaCare.

Thanks to WesternFreePress.com for posting the video from AFP-Arizona’s September 5 “debate” on the AZ ObamaCare insurance exchange.

More Sept 5 interviews are posted here.

(Below is our original invitation to the debate.)

Arizona Taxpayers and Health Care Consumers:

Please register now for the September 5 debate on the ObamaCare insurance exchange.  To register, please email Bill Fathauer at bfathauer@afphq.org.  The debate will help to answer some important questions about the exchange:

Would we actually have more health care freedom than if the federal government sets up an exchange here?

Would an Arizona exchange make ObamaCare harder to repeal?

How much would an ObamaCare exchange cost Arizona businesses in penalties?

How much would an ObamaCare exchange cost Arizona families in taxes?

Would an ObamaCare exchange promote price transparency or expand competition?

Why is the Brewer Administration pushing to impose an ObamaCare exchange on Arizona?

The Arizona exchange debate, hosted by the Arizona chapter of Americans for Prosperity, will take place Wednesday, September 5, from 1:00 to 2:30 pm, at the Goldwater Institute.  Arguing against the exchange are Glendale physician and health care freedom fighter Dr. Eric Novack and Cato Institute health care policy analyst Michael Cannon.

AFP-Arizona has also been working to secure participation by two panelists from the pro-exchange side, and has reached out to the Brewer Administration and the state’s health insurance lobbyists.  What is very strange is that although thirty-two businesses and business lobbying organizations in the state signed on to the pro-exchange letter to Gov. Brewer, led by Glenn Hamer of the Arizona Chamber of Commerce, none of them has so far taken up our challenge to debate the exchange publicly.  For a list of the organizations and individuals to which we have reached out, use this link:

AFP-AZ letter to the Coalition for an Arizona State Exchange

There will be limited seating for this event, so please register soon by emailing Bill Fathauer at bfathauer@afphq.org or calling (480) 332-0477.  Legislators and candidates who wish to sign the Arizona Health Care Freedom Pledge to stop the ObamaCare exchange should contact me (Tom Jenney) at tjenney@afphq.org.

And be sure to read AFP-Arizona’s op-ed on the ObamaCare insurance exchange from the August 22 Arizona Republic.

As you can see in the letter linked to below, we have invited the pro-exchange side (including insurance industry lobbyists) to bring their best two panelists and add a co-moderator.
