AZ Legislators of the Week — February 10-14, 2014
Rep. Debbie Lesko of Peoria (Legislative District 21) serves as the Chairwoman of the influential House Ways and Means Committee and is a former board member of the Arizona Federation of Taxpayers (AFP-Arizona’s predecessor organization).
Sen. Kimberly Yee of Phoenix (Legislative District 20) is a small business owner and the Chairman of the Senate Education Committee. She has previously worked for the Senate Education Committee as a staffer and on the staff of California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger.
AFP-Arizona recognizes these two legislators this week for their hard work trying to expand the eligibility for Arizona’s Empowerment Scholarship Accounts program — a vital school choice initiative that allows Arizona families (especially the most vulnerable) to direct state education funds towards alternative means of education. The proposed expansion would allow children who are struggling or have special needs to get the educational experience that best fits their requirements.
Please let these two legislators know how much you support their great work!
