Dear Arizona Taxpayers and Veterans—
On April 15 and 16 you will have a chance to register your disgust with two federal government agencies.
Tuesday in Tucson – Protest the IRS!
The Arizona chapter of Americans for Prosperity is joining with the Pima County Tea Party Patriots and Pima County Election Integrity (an affiliate of True the Vote), to hold a flash rally at the IRS building in downtown Tucson.
If you’re angry at the IRS, you need to join us in downtown Tucson on Tuesday, April 15 from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. As far as we know, this is the only IRS protest or Tea Party event on Tax Day in Arizona this year.
If we do not rally public opinion against the IRS, the bureaucrats at this increasingly corrupt and powerful agency will continue to harass and silence the ideological enemies of the Obama administration.
The Tucson IRS building is located on the northeast corner of Congress Street and Granada Avenue. Rally participants will be on the sidewalk on Congress Street in front of the IRS building. Organizers ask that participants do not get any closer to the IRS building than the line of palm trees at the main entrance. Parking can be found in the garage on the north side of Congress Street, west of Granada. The entrance to the garage is off of Manning House Way.
Please email Karen Schutte at email@example.com to let her know you’ll be coming!
Wednesday in Phoenix – Protest Mismanagement at the VA!
AFP-Arizona strongly encourages veterans and the people who love them to join Concerned Veterans of America on Wednesday afternoon, April 16 at 12:30 pm at the VA in Phoenix.
The VA has received a 60 percent budget increase since 2009, and its budget has tripled since the beginning of the Global War on Terror. Yet the VA continues to provide disastrously poor care for America’s veterans. Of course, the only thing the Left has to offer is to suggest that taxpayers throw yet more money at the VA!
The Arizona Republic has uncovered evidence that employees at the Phoenix VA Healthcare System manipulated data to cover up the deaths of up to 40 veterans due to long wait times and negligence. In an editorial, the Republic said about VA leadership, “Let the heads begin to roll.” We agree. The VA is long overdue for personnel reform. Right now, it is very difficult to fire poorly-performing VA managers and to reward high performers.
To draw attention to the need for personnel reform at the VA, the Arizona chapter of Concerned Veterans for America is holding a rally at 12:30 pm on Wednesday, April 16 to hold the Phoenix VA accountable and to support H.R. 4031, the VA Accountability Management Act, an important piece of legislation that would implement much-needed reforms at the VA.
Wednesday’s rally will be held at Steele Indian Park, which is located at 300 E. Indian School Rd., Phoenix, AZ 85012. Many veteran and community leaders will be present and food will also be provided.
RSVP HERE & STAND WITH OUR VETERANS
We look forward to seeing you at this important event. If you have any questions about the rally or want to learn more about Concerned Veterans for America, please contact Dan Caldwell at firstname.lastname@example.org or Mike Mitchell at email@example.com.
For Liberty, Tom
