AFP Praises Sen. Josh Hawley’s Advise and Consent Role Ahead of Rao Vote

ARLINGTON, Va. – Americans for Prosperity President Tim Phillips issued the following statement ahead of the Senate Judiciary Committee’s vote to advance the nomination of Neomi Rao to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit:

“We appreciate Senator Hawley taking his “advise and consent” role seriously as he considers Neomi Rao for the D.C.-circuit court of appeals, and that he is willing to ask tough questions of judicial nominees. We are grateful he met with Ms. Rao and has shown a commitment to confirm judges that interpret the law as written. Ms. Rao has made clear she will put her personal views aside and follow the law. Ms. Rao is well-qualified to be confirmed by the United States Senate. We urge Senator Hawley to vote “yes” tomorrow in support of Ms. Rao’s confirmation.”
