Stuart Jolly

Lt. Col. (R) Stuart A. Jolly
State Director, Americans for Prosperity-Oklahoma

Stuart A. Jolly has been state director of the Oklahoma chapter of Americans for Prosperity since 2006 and has seen many successes. On the legislative front, AFP-Oklahoma has lobbied and seen passed legislation concerning lower taxes, resolution opposing “card check” and other taxpayer friendly issues. Currently, AFP-Oklahoma is planning over 25 Taxpayer Tea Parties around the state on April 15th sending a message to Congress that you can’t spend your way to prosperity. Other issues AFP-OK is advocating for include opposing Taxpayer-funded Lobbyists on the state level and lowering the Property Tax Cap from 5% to 3%. In support of these and other issues, AFP has held multiple rallies and grassroots events fighting for taxpayer’s rights and defending the free markets.

Prior to joining AFP, Stuart enjoyed an impressive and diverse career with the United States Army spanning 22 years. During the Persian Gulf War, he was a Blackhawk Helicopter Platoon Leader in the 101st Airborne Division, and as result of his service there, earned the Bronze Star and two Air Medals.

His service includes positions of leadership as Company Commander in an Apache Helicopter Battalion in Germany, Foreign Area Officer in the Defense Attaché Office at the U.S. Embassy to Belgium, and teaching positions at East Carolina University and most recently at the University of Central Oklahoma as the Professor of Military Science.

Stuart holds degrees from The Citadel (B.A.-Political Science) and East Carolina University (M.A.-International Studies and Business). He is also a graduate of the Defense Language Institute (DLI), and the Command and General Staff College (CGSC). Stuart is married to the former Marcia L. Greer of Fort Valley, Georgia, and has been blessed with two daughters and a son.
