Holds “House Call” Day at Local Congressional Offices

National grassroots organization delivers message from 38,000 Californians
opposing government-run healthcare

Pasadena--Grassroots organization Americans for Prosperity held a national Congressional House Call Day Thursday, November 5th at congressional offices all across the country, expressing Americans’ opposition to the government takeover of healthcare.

In Washington, D.C., thousands of citizens attended a rally opposing HR 3962, legislation that will impose a massive new government healthcare bureaucracy. The California chapter of Americans for Prosperity led groups of supporters to the offices of Representatives Adam Schiff and Loretta Sanchez. Citizens hand delivered a message from 38,000 Californians who oppose the 2,032-page healthcare bill being pushed by Speaker Nancy Pelosi for a vote this Friday.

Hundreds of California Americans for Prosperity members placed calls and made visits to their Congressional District offices. In Pasadena State Director David Spady and a group of AFP member visited the office of Representative Adam Schiff.

Spady stated, "Hundreds of Californians are joining us today to ask their Representatives to oppose this government seizure of our healthcare system. They understand that a government-run health system is socialized medicine-a system that creates new bureaucracies, opens the door to lawsuit abuse and fraud, and inevitably means lower quality of care and rationing. Californians want their representatives to say 'NO' to government-run healthcare."

In Orange County, 34 passionate AFP members met with Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez’s district representative in the parking lot of her office. The meeting lasted over an hour, giving everyone an opportunity to present their personal opposition to HR 3962.
