Guess what? Lansing politicians just have to have more of your money. But don’t worry; these aren’t real tax increases. It’s just higher taxes on bad things like beer, cigarettes and pop…and things you don’t really need like movie tickets, golfing, bowling and museums…and people who make too much money…

You see, Lansing needs more of your money, so you just need to cut out the unnecessary fat in your family’s budget – again. Despite dozens of plans and reports from liberal, moderate and conservative groups proving that the state budget deficit can be balanced without tax increases, Lansing politicians are still more afraid of special interest groups than they are of you – the taxpayer who pays for it all.

And it’s the same in Washington, D.C. Many of Michigan’s U.S Representatives and Senators in Congress are on-board with soda pop taxes, taxes on the “rich,” and cap-and-trade (a tax on your electricity and gasoline) to give you “free” government-run health care and the other boondoggles.
