Internship Program General Description

Spring Internships:
AFPF’s Spring Internship Program begins January 15th and ends May 20th. Intern applicants looking to work part-time will be determined on a case-by-case basis.

Summer Internships:
AFPF’s Summer Internship Program begins May 23rd and ends August 12th.
All interns during the summer are expected to work full time.

Fall Internships:
AFPF’s Fall Internship Program begins in mid August 15th and ends in mid December 16th.

Times and dates are flexible.

Organization Description:

Americans for Prosperity Foundation (AFPF) and its affiliate, Americans for Prosperity (AFP), are nationwide leaders in organizing citizen leaders committed to advancing every individual’s right to economic freedom. AFPF believes that reducing the size and scope of government is the best safeguard to ensuring individual productivity and prosperity for all Americans. AFPF educates and engages citizens in support of restraining state and federal government growth, and returning government to its constitutional limits. Americans for Prosperity Foundation works to advance greater economic growth, opportunity and prosperity through strong ethical foundations, government restraint and private sector productivity and competition.

Internship Description:

AFPF is committed to attracting the best and brightest talent to our internship program, both at headquarters and in our state chapters. We equip interns with life-long career skills to enable them to more effectively change the cultural dialogue towards free market philosophy. Interns have the opportunity to work closely with headquarters and state staff on substantive projects to advance the cause of liberty. Intern responsibilities vary by department, but are flexible depending on what experience the intern wants to gain from his or her internship. AFPF offers the opportunity to work in policy, communications, development, marketing, new media, national and state operations, human resources, finance and legal work.

General deliverables include, but are not limited to: supporting AFPF and AFP state chapters across the country, assisting staff with national events and mailings, performing research and writing projects for our website and newsletter, developing organizational databases, assisting in the day-to-day operations of the national office and brainstorming ways to make AFPF more successful. Interns are strongly encouraged to innovate their roles and responsibilities to further the cause of liberty.

Application Requirements:
Prospective interns may be rising college sophomores, juniors, seniors, recent graduates, post- graduate students with a commitment to limited government and increasing economic freedom through free markets.
