As we celebrate our Nation's 233rd Independence day this July 4th weekend, let's all commit ourselves to being the Freedom Fighters of which our Founding Fathers would be proud.

We face threats to our economic freedoms on multiple fronts but none are more dangerous than the job killing, energy tax increasing Cap-and-Trade and the attempted government takeover of our health care.

Over the next three months both of these crucial issues will be decided. Simply put, we have to win.

I will tell you this much. At Americans for Prosperity we are committed to protecting our freedom -- keeping the American Dream intact for our children and grandchildren -- by stopping Cap-and-Trade and stopping the government health care takeover.

Here is what Cap-and-Trade means for you: massive new tax increases on the gasoline for your automobiles; higher utility bills for your home each month; more expensive consumer products like food, computers, appliances; federal bureaucrats inspecting your home or farm BEFORE you can sell it to judge whether or not it meets new federal energy standards; and literally millions of job losses.

Here is what President Obama's government health care means for you: government between you and your doctor; long lines and long delays just to get doctor appointments or basic medical procedures; treatment rationed or denied based on old age or chronic illnesses; loss of your ability to choose the best health insurance options for you.

As you can see the stakes could not be higher.

But, we're going to do what Americans always do when faced with a challenge. We're going to stand up and fight to protect our freedoms.

And on this 233rd anniversary of the original freedom fighters, nothing could be more appropriate.
