UPCOMING EVENT

AFP-OK is working to advance liberty by giving parents a choice about where to send their kids to school. To find out more, read the following release and attend the event on July 31!

SCHOOL CHOICE DAY AT THE ZOO

You are cordially invited to participate in a special event sponsored by the Oklahoma Council of Public Affairs and Americans for Prosperity Foundation in association with the Friedman Foundation for Educational Choice. The event is a School Choice Fair being held at the OKC Zoo on July 31, 2009 from 9am to noon.

The objectives of the event are to educate the public and families on school choice with educational research material; provide the opportunity for private schools, magnet schools, charter schools, and home school groups to give information to families visiting the zoo; and to broaden the scope and benefits of school choice to those who do not know what options to pursue.

We are inviting schools to set up a booth to display information about your school. To reserve a booth at the School Choice Fair a $25 fee is required. Two admission tickets will be given for representatives of each booth. Each booth must set up a small game with prizes for children that come to the fair.

For the public, free child tickets will be available to the first 300 children accompanied by parents. Once inside the zoo, booths will be setup to represent each school or organization present.

Americans for Prosperity Foundation is a nationwide organization of citizen leaders committed to advancing every individual's right to economic freedom and opportunity. AFPF educates and engages citizens in support of restraining state and federal government growth, and returning government to its constitutional limits.

Oklahoma Council of Public Affairs is a non-profit organization that promotes educational freedom. Our mission is to accumulate, evaluate, and disseminate public policy ideas and information for Oklahoma consistent with the principles of free enterprise, limited government, and individual initiative.

If your school is interested in participating, please fill out the enclosed application and return by June 15, 2009. We look forward to working with you and promoting school choice in Oklahoma.
