WASHINGTON - Today Americans for Prosperity, the nation's largest advocate for economic freedom, announced that Senator Pat Toomey will speak at the massive Hands Off My Health Care rally scheduled for March 27th on Capitol Hill.
“The American people deserve reforms that will actually lower the cost of health care, protect jobs, help ensure access to quality health care and protect the doctor-patient relationship – reforms that the president’s health care law doesn’t achieve," Sen. Toomey said. "The new taxes, fees and regulatory burdens in this law are already hurting American jobs, and it is critical that we work to encourage job creation in the private sector, not undermine it. I commend Americans for Prosperity for hosting the Hands Off My Health Care rally to help bring attention to the dangerous consequences of this law.”
Senator Toomey joins a line-up that includes Representative Michele Bachmann and Americans for Prosperity President Tim Phillips. The event will bring thousands of activists to Capitol Hill to rally for health care freedom as the Supreme Court hears oral arguments on the constitutionality of President Obama’s health care plan.
The purpose of the Hands Off My Health Care rally is to send a message that the American people are opposed to federal government intrusion on their private health care decisions, and the individual mandate is contrary to the United States Constitution.
