AFP-Ohio State Director: Rebecca Heimlich

Rebecca Heimlich is the Ohio State Director of Americans for Prosperity (AFP-OH), a nationwide grassroots organization that educates citizens and mobilized them as advocates for limited government, free markets, and fiscal responsibility in government.  AFP has more than 1.2 million members, including members in all 50 states, and 30 state chapters and affiliates.  AFP-OH has over 33,000 members.

A graduate of Vanderbilt University School of Law, Rebecca practiced law at Taft Stettinius and Hollister, LLP in their Cincinnati and Cleveland offices.  While at Taft, she defended employers against discrimination lawsuits, litigated labor and real estate matters, and advised clients on business, tax, and employment planning. 

She continued her litigation and real estate practice at Squire, Sanders & Dempsey L.L.P.  She has also served as an Assistant Prosecutor in Clermont County, Ohio, prosecuting defendants in criminal cases.

Rebecca’s work on local political campaigns has ranged from directing grassroots efforts to coordinating media, researching policy issues, and planning events.  In 2007 and 2008, she managed a congressional primary campaign.

Recently, Rebecca published a children’s book, Do Cups Have Arms? and Other Silly Questions, that her children wrote and she illustrated.

Rebecca is married to political commentator Phil Heimlich, a former Cincinnati City Council member and Hamilton County Commissioner.  Their children, Henry and Allie, are ages 7 and 5.
